School Authorization Agreement

COPPA School Official Authorization: This agreement allows schools to provide consent on behalf of parents for the use of AskTA solely for educational purposes within the school's educational program.

1. School's Authority and Representations

The School represents and warrants that:

  • It has the authority to act on behalf of parents for school-authorized educational activities
  • It will use AskTA solely for educational purposes
  • It will obtain any additional parental consent if use extends beyond core educational activities
  • It will notify parents of AskTA's use in accordance with its standard policies

2. Scope of Educational Use

✓ Approved Uses:

  • Classroom instruction and assignments
  • Homework help during school hours
  • School-supervised tutoring programs
  • Academic assessment and progress tracking
  • Remedial education programs
  • School-authorized enrichment activities

✗ Prohibited Uses:

  • Commercial purposes
  • Entertainment
  • Non-educational activities
  • Marketing or advertising to students
  • Activities outside the school's program

3. Student Data Collected

The School acknowledges that AskTA will collect:

  • Student name and grade level (provided by school)
  • School-assigned student ID (optional)
  • Educational conversations with AI tutor
  • Learning progress and assessment data
  • Usage patterns and time spent
  • Subject areas studied

4. Data Protection and Security

AskTA agrees to:

  • Use student data only for educational purposes
  • Implement industry-standard security measures
  • Restrict access to authorized personnel only
  • Not sell or commercialize student data
  • Delete student data upon school's request
  • Provide data breach notification within 48 hours

5. Parent Rights

The School acknowledges that parents retain the right to:

  • Review their child's information
  • Request deletion of their child's data
  • Opt their child out of using the platform
  • Receive copies of their child's data
  • File complaints about data handling

6. Compliance with Laws

Both parties agree to comply with:

  • Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Applicable state student privacy laws
  • Local data protection regulations

7. Commercial Terms

Pricing

  • School and district pricing is custom and provided through a written quote or order form
  • Final pricing depends on seat count, implementation scope, integrations, and support level
  • Self-serve family pricing is published separately on our public pricing page

Payment Terms

  • Payment terms are defined in the executed order form
  • Purchase orders and invoicing can be supported when requested during procurement
  • Billing cadence and any service commitments are documented in writing
